This year, an unique summer fair showcasing the ‘Seven Wonders of the World” organised by Spellbound is taking place at Island Grounds, Chennai. Last week, I’ve visited the Island Grounds to see this summer fair as I was really excited to see all the major wonders at one place although these are replica models of the original wonders. Some of these are very well made, while others were slightly a bit off from the original. Among these mega structures, Leaning tower of Pisa, Chichen Itza, Colosseum and Taj Mahal are my favorites. Altogether I had a wonderful evening with my kid and took a lot of snaps of these models.
There were seven mega-size models of world wonders constructed on a wooden platform standing at a height of nearly 100 to 120 feet. The wonders on display were:
1. Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy
2. Liberty Statue, New York
3. Colosseum of Rome
4. Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
5. Chichen Itza (El Castillo Pyramid), Mexico
6. Taj Mahal, Agra, India
7. The Great Wall of China
